Aneesa is a skilled and dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist who has a primary degree in Speech and Language Pathology and specialized qualifications in dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). With a career spanning over 15 years, Aneesa has gained extensive experience working in rehabilitation units within hospitals, outpatient clinics and schools across South Africa, Ireland and the United Arab
Emirates.

Aneesa’s areas of speciality include:

  • Complex swallowing difficulties
  • Articulation and phonological disorders
  • Language delays and disorders
  • Fluency disorders such as stuttering and cluttering
  • Voice disorders
  • Cognitive-communication disorders
  • Implementing augmentative and alternative communication(AAC)

Aneesa is trained in the following:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in advanced dysphagia management: This includes the management of oral sensory difficulties and feeding aversion.
  • Postgraduate diploma in dysphagia assessment using Videofluoroscopy and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing: These are instrumental swallowing assessments which are used to objectively assess swallowing difficulties and guide treatment
  • Talk tools level 1: This is an approach to manage oral motor difficulties to improve motor speech production in children with articulation difficulties.
