Amira Ali

Amiira is a Speech and Language Therapist graduating from City University of London. She has experience in working with children in both Mainstream and specialist classes administering both assessment and intervention for many different presentations.

Amiira enjoys working with children in both one to one or group settings to work towards meaningful and functional goals.

She also has experience working in hospital as part of the National Health Service in the UK, where she worked with children with a wide range speech and language difficulties including different aspects of language disorders, social communication and interaction differences as well as speech sound difficulties.

Amiira believes in highly valuing the role of parents, teachers and primary care givers and thus has engaged in many training sessions for the community around the child so that they feel empowered with the right knowledge and strategies.

She is fluent in both English and Somali and has completed assessment and intervention in both languages. Likewise, she can conduct many bilingual assessments with interpreters having worked with multicultural families during her time in the UK.

Amiira sees bilingualism as an asset and not a hindrance and always advocates this to parents and educators a like.
