Rima is a Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychologist Dubai with BA in Psychology and a MA in Clinical Psychology from the American University of Beirut (AUB). During her graduate years, she researched the predictors of posttraumatic growth in an undergraduate university sample. After completing a two-year internship at the AUB Medical Center Department of Psychiatry, Rima worked at SKILD Center as a Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychologist for two years in Lebanon before moving to Dubai. Her work specialty includes psychometric assessment and psychotherapy. She is trained in providing assessment to children and adolescents struggling with educational, cognitive, emotional, and/or social difficulties in order to assess cognitive strengths and weaknesses and/or monitor progress. Based on the assessment findings, specific diagnoses and recommendations can then be generated to help parents, teachers, and other professionals tackle specific areas in the child’s life that require improvement. Rima is also trained in providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents struggling with various psychological difficulties (e.g., adjustment disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, etc.) and/or daily life stressors (e.g., bullying, poor social skills, poor self-esteem, etc.). Her therapeutic approach is holistic, client-centered, and goal-oriented. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), social skills training, and parent management training in her therapy. Rima joined Neuropedia in September 2020.
