Dr. Tanya Bajwa

Dr. Tanya is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Skidmore College, New York and a master’s and Ph.D. in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Columbia University, New York.

Tanya has been working in the ABA field for 8 years. In the United States, Tanya worked in clinic and home settings providing 1:1 and group therapy for children aged 3-14. She also worked as a Special Education teacher and BCBA for Kindergarten through Second-grade students. In schools, Tanya conducted a variety of assessments to evaluate and design programs for academic, social, play language and communication, and daily living skills. She also wrote individual education plans (IEPs) and coordinated with an interdisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physical Therapists, parents, school counsellors, and social workers to support all students. Tanya provided virtual parent training for families in her class and was also responsible for training and supervising a team of behaviour therapists within the school setting.

Most recently, Tanya was the Director of Education and ABA at the McCarton Foundation, an early intervention center in the Bronx, NY. Here, she supervised and trained a team of teachers, social workers, and behavioral therapists on the implementation of evidenced-based programs for all students at the center. She also developed and implemented a series of staff training programs on recent and effective ABA techniques for behaviour management and teaching students new skills. Tanya also supervises candidates for BCBA and RBT board certification.

Tanya also is passionate about furthering research in the field of ABA; finding the most effective and efficient strategies to increase language and communication, functional, and social skills. She has guest lectured at several universities in the United States, presented at international ABA conferences, and published in a peer-reviewed journal.
